The commission ranges from 10% to 15% depending on the rules of the states. Some states allow 10% while the others do 15%. There are certain criteria defined for becoming a bail bondsman. The criteria may vary state to state, but in general following steps are surely needed:

• Receive the education and training
• Receive the certification making you eligible for becoming a bail bondsman
• Apply for the bail bondsman commercial license.

First of all you have to get the education leading to certification for opening a business of bail bondsman. There are certain schools where the training and courses are offered. After having completed the courses you have to get the certification from school which is needed for further processing of your application leading to the issuance of commercial license for operating the bail bondsman business. Finally you have to submit all the required documents with your application form to getting commercial business permission. Once you are issued the same you can operate your business of bail bondsman.
